We had a great day yesterday. The weather was fabulous in Dublin and so we decided to head over to Marlay Park for the Outdoor Movies in the park (organised by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council). They played the Lego Movie at 3pm so we arrived around 2pm to give us some time for parking (which actually wasn’t bad when we arrived, but we heard it was mental closer to the start time!) and to get some food from the market.
We got some delicious tapas from Jarek’s Kitchen (our kiddies love the patatas bravas and meatballs!) and camped in front of the massive screen that was located directly behind Marlay House.
Once the movie started, Mr Messer was glued to the screen – he loves his lego and he loves the Lego Movie. Missy Messer on the other hand sat down for about 10 minutes and then started to run around, play with a water bottle, roll around our picnic blanket and what not. The good news is, the outdoor cinema is perfectly suited for exactly that! The younger children can play and roam around while the rest of us can (at least try to) concentrate on what’s happening on the screen.
The event is on today as well, so if you are wondering what to do this Sunday, why not head over to Marlay Park to catch a movie? The children’s movie is on at 3pm and they play Stuart Little today. If you are going, I would recommend to arrive early as parking can be a bit mental!
